Tom Darrah, CERTAIN Associate Director, presented with The Society for Organic Petrology’s Dalway Swaine Award for 2018

Tom Darrah’s paper entitled “The geochemistry of naturally occurring methane and saline groundwater in an area of unconventional shale gas development”, published in 2017 in Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, vol. 208, p. 302-334, was selected to be the winner of TSOP’s prestigious Dalway Swaine Award for 2018. This award is given by the Society for Organic Petrology in recognition of the best refereed paper in Coal and Hydrocarbon Source Rock Geochemistry. The Society for Organic Petrology is a non-profit organization for scientists and engineers involved with coal petrology, kerogen petrology, organic geochemistry and related disciplines. Darrah, Professor in the School of Earth Sciences, presently serves as Associate Director of CERTAIN.
