Thanks to shale development, oil and natural gas markets have decoupled in the United States, and gas has been consistently inexpensive during the last five years. Low prices for that fuel are in turn driving demand growth in various sectors, including electricity generation and the powering of buses, delivery trucks, and other fleet vehicles. Farmers and agribusiness proprietors are also interested in switching to natural gas from diesel and other fuels.
This one-day workshop will feature expert speakers, including representatives of enterprises that use natural gas, who will address technical, economic, and regulatory factors influencing fuels for greenhouse operations and grain-drying and the adoption of machinery and farm implements powered by CNG and LNG. The option of group-purchasing will also be examined. The ultimate aim of the workshop is to improve participants’ understanding of the circumstances under which natural gas is the best fuel choice as well as conditions that favor other fuels.
